• App-based driving services such as Uber, Lyft, DoorDash and Instacart are bankrolling California’s Proposition 22, which would keep their drivers classified as independent contractors, not employees.
• Supporters of Proposition 22 say, if passed, the initiative would ensure that drivers are eligible for a range of benefits, including health care benefits, while allowing them to maintain the flexible schedule of independent contractors.
• These health benefits, however, come in the form of a stipend rather than more traditional, work-based coverage. The stipend would be calculated quarterly, which means the amount of assistance drivers receive could change throughout the year.

A driver diagram is a visual display of a team’s theory of what “drives,” or contributes to, the achievement of a project aim. This clear picture of a team’s shared view is a useful tool for communicating to a range of stakeholders where a team is testing and working.
